Thom DeVita: Coming to Tattoo Age
Well guys, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that you’re going to have to wait until November 21st to see the next episode of Tattoo Age. Thankfully, the good news is that they’re featuring the absolutely outstanding and downright charming Thom DeVita to end their second series with.
Thom has been tattooing since the 1960’s, though I’m always surprised at how little people seem to know about him. I’d like to think that Tattoo Age might change that for a few people. He started tattooing in New York, just after it became illegal, and carried on for 40 years, and there are many tattooers who sing his praises at any chance they get.
What is really cool about this is that Vice, the guys behind Tattoo Age, completely understands this. So much so, in fact, that they’re making an exception for Thom’s episodes. Instead of three segments, there will be five, with one each week. They’ll run through Thom’s whole career in-depth, in what he calls ‘inter-visits’. This is something which is really awesome, and I’d encourage you all to see this when it’s out. There are also tattooers such as Don Ed Hardy, Nick Bubash, Scott Harrison, John Wyatt, Angelo Scotto, Bubba Reeves, and Robert Ryan, among others, featured in this.
I’m really excited to see this and I hope you are too. To whet your appetite, you can see below the trailer. So excited!
