Dude of the Month: Paul Sayce

Hey guys, I’ve started a new monthly feature for the site- the dude of the month! This is going to be where we give a little recognition to those who make tattooing fantastic every month. Got your own ideas for next month? Feel free to leave a comment here or on our Facebook page for me to see!

Paul Sayce (who hopefully doesn’t mind me using this old picture of him, haha!) is one of my favourite tattoo writers. There is no way I’ll be able to do his great contributions towards tattooing justice in one blog post, but I’ll try my best.

Since the 70s, the “tattoo bug” bit Paul, and he’s been chasing his obsession ever since. He’s been around the world, visiting some of the best tattoo studios there are, collecting tattoos from incredible artists and writing his socks off. He’s written for some brilliant publications, co-founded the Tattoo Club of Great Britain and curated the British Tattoo History Museum, and has even appeared on TV a few times! If you think that’s a lot, I’m honestly scratching the surface.

Paul is a great guy who really loves to put tattooing into a positive light, and has done everything he can to help do that. He’s so passionate about tattooing, and it really shows! Not only is he passionate, he’s very smart too, which makes every article he’s written (of which there are a bloody lot!) extremely insightful and interesting. Now that a lot of tattooing seems to be about some tosser with an expensive haircut and a rock star attitude, Paul doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves, but here at Tattoosday UK I say he’s one of the best things to happen to the industry! Mr Sayce, we salute you!

If you want to find out more about Paul, you can check out this link on his fantastic website- make sure to take a look around the site while you’re there!
