Japan 2011
The Great Wave off Kanawangara, by Hokusai
In 2011, Japan saw some devastating events. Thankfully, the good people living there also saw incredible generosity and compassion from many people. Some of those people were tattooers from all over the world. This page was set up at the time to try to keep track of many of the things going on to raise money for aid. We don’t really need this page up now, but I like to keep it up and show how well some of our friends in tattooing did.
Following the devastating events in Japan this month, many tattooers all over the world have been trying their best to raise as much money for aid as possible. Through Tattoo.TV’s Japan Week, I’ve been trying my best to keep up with tattooer’s events and benefits, but everything’s happening so fast it’s hard to keep up! As an addition to the week, I will also be posting up news here of anything I hear of. If you see any events in your area, please visit your local studio and take part- even if you don’t want to buy anything or get a tattoo, you can donate at participating studios. Also, if you have anything happening in your studio you would like us to list up, please contact us, or leave a comment below! With me living in the UK, I would really appreciate you overseas folks keeping your ears to the ground!
