After Inked Review!
On Thursday, a delightful package dropped through the doors at Tattoosday UK- one handy- sized airless bottle and a sachet of the After Inked aftercare lotion, courtesy of their UK distributor. In a word: fantastic. But I’m not here to write one word articles, so take a look for yourself after the jump!
Something that really impressed me about After Inked is their business ethics: After Inked is vegan friendly and cruelty free. It is also full of natural ingredients, such as grape seed oil, and of course is fragrance free.
The lotion can be used on tattoos that are fresh, for aftercare treatment, or pre-existing tattoos to brighten them up a bit. Of course, after reading that, the lotion went straight onto my tattoos!
I was really impressed with how much can be used from just one squirt of the bottle pump- one pea sized amount of the lotion covered up tattoos that would amount to just under a half- sleeve! Of course, if these tattoos were fresh, that probably wouldn’t be the case, but I was still nonetheless really happy with how little you had to use.
As soon as the lotion had set in, I saw results- my skin felt really soft, and I could see the black pigment in my tattoos almost coming to life- fantastic! I handed Lauren, an occasional contributor to this site, the sachet which she immediately put onto her healing tattoos.
“This stuff is fantastic!”, she tells me! She also commented on how nice it smells, and how it isn’t a fraction as greasy as Bepanthen (which we both usually use). I completely agree- I hate how Bepanthen feels on my skin!
Speaking of which, unlike Bepanthen, After Inked won’t stick to your clothes- leaving us ready to get dressed and go out- brilliant!
All in all, I’d say that After Inked is definitely something I’d recommend however, always listen to your tattoo artist’s after care instructions! If they don’t talk about a product such as After Inked, or any other method of aftercare, it never hurts to ask- but it may if you don’t!
Thank you very much for sending those samples, After Inked, Lauren and I loved them!

Awesome product! I’ve been using After Inked for over a year on my old and new tattoos and that stuff is amazing!!
Read your review of that after inked stuff and you’re spot on.
I got some off the web from a company in London and applied it to my tattoo’s some of them done 30 years ago. Within minutes they looked as good as they were 30 years ago, brings the colours back to life again.
I’m in my 60′s now but I’m still proud of my tattoo’s and I like them looking their best, not faded out like some lads I know.
Great write up, told it like it is, like you I used Benpanthen for years when there wasn’t anything else to use, but this is the new kid on the block and it’ll do for me.
It feels great on the skin and it don’t stick to or stain your shirt, well worth the money to get the best out of your art.
Benny.
Thank you for your comment, it was very positive and made me smile. =] I couldn’t agree more about it being worth the money. Well, like I said I did get this free, but I’ll be buying it when it runs out!
